Newt gets pounded…again. Good Tea Party Republicans DO NOT approve!

(We ALSO DO NOT APPROVE of Newt spots pounding Romney. How dumb do these guys think we are?)

I don’t care who you’re voting for, this new level of Florida swamp mud throwing really sucks.

This time around we will elect our candidate to whip Obama’s doomsday scenario on the basis of truth…not lies and smarmy political commercials. Who do they get to voiceover those things anyway? Do you know anyone who talks like that? If you did, how far would you trust them.

If Newt digs his own hole, then so be it. However, the LAST thing we should stand for is someone else doing it for him.

In a contest where the best man can rise to the top on the fair and square, this romp in the swamp has really gotten out of hand fast.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll not sit idle while the good ol boy GOP establishment chooses my candidate for me. Not again. Not ever again. Triple down on that when they use Obama tactics.

For his part, Romney may well win the battles with this approach, but if he continues he’ll lose the war. Winning at all cost doesn’t cut it with the Tea Party. Tactically, it’s something Nancy Pelosi would do.

At the end of all things, if Romney proves to be vile to the point of not being worthy, and Newt proves to be not the guy we want him to be…well….there is another.

If we assume as we must that any one of ours will beat Obama come election day, then we can’t lose.

I confess that I am truly in the Gingrich camp. Naturally, this can change, depending on future events.

What I take heart from though, is that unlike the last few elections, this time around 3 out of 4 of the candidates are speaking MY language, and the 4th isn’t going anywhere.

Human nature being what it is, we all have our favorite, but if our man loses, we still have two other GREAT choices in our back pockets. I can’t recall an election period like this in my lifetime.

Most point back to the Reagan era being the model for the future, but truth be told, Reagan was an unknown quantity before he took office. We had great hopes, but in the end, it was hopes. Thank God our hopes panned out.

With the gift of hindsight and Reagan’s example, we have a ton of metrics with which to measure our 2012 guys, and all of them have records. It’s like a searchlight compared to a candle. We were a LOT dumber back then. Or maybe a lot more innocent.

Today, the choices are much more stark. It’s the battle of brains vs. ignorance. Brains ought to win, but as we have seen, ignorance is a pretty powerful force. Ex: Government by recall in Wisconsin.

Case in point:

The evening of Newt’s South Carolina win, I was struck that during his victory speech the audience spontaneously broke out in a chant. Yes, conservatives also chant. They yelled at the top of their lungs, “USA USA USA USA.”

Contrast this with an Obama rally. Reverently, the audience will chant, “O-Bah-Ma O-Bah-Ma O-Bah-Ma O-Bah-Ma.”

It is the cult of country first vs. the cult of the man first. Conservatives worship the country. Liberals worship the man.

We know where the worship of the man leads.

It’s damn funny that the dictionary definition of conservatism states that we want to maintain the status quo, while progressives want to move things on along into the future.

The truth is that liberalism seeks to take us back to a political system of dictators, kings, czars, and pharaohs. The deification of the man.

If I fault our conservative candidates for one thing above all, it is telling us that to vote Obama is to vote for a European style socialist system. That’s being much too generous.

Allowing Obama another term will announce to the world a new nation… The Banana Republic of America. Even worse, at least the old Banana Republics have bananas. Here in the good old USA, we have none.

I suppose you would have to call the Sunday Meet the Press Debate with David Duchovny the “Gay Debate,” as they spent an awful lot of time on the hot subject.

For a southerner with more to worry about than gay adoption…Things like will I ever work again, thermonuclear war, gas prices, etc., I confess that gay pride ranks about 44th out of 44 on my list of political issues.

But, New Hampshire which leads the nation in gay stuff obviously sees it much differently. Hopefully this important national topic will be settled once and for all when they get to vote for the gayest candidate come ‘lection day.

Honestly, the Republican candidates deserve whatever they get in the way of dumb questions at these debates sponsored by ABC and NBC, for they should have never agreed to do them in the first place.

It is our lot in life as good conservatives to have to winnow away the wheat from the chaff and take away what good information we can as we wend our way through the minefields the liberal progressive communistic traditional news media strews in our way during the debates.

I found the photo above on the Daily Politics blog while I was trying to find the correct spelling for Meet the Press talk yakker, David Duchovny. It was above the fold in an incomprehensible article by Charles. P. Pierce, who is obviously a liberal.

I wonder if my imperious words are equally confusing to him? I never thought about that. Anyway, I got a good laugh from the photo, which someone who obviously does not think as we do went to a LOT of trouble to produce.

This photo reminded me at all the fun WE will have with photos of our favorite liberal, His Infernal Majesty, B. Obama!

Iowa and Fox News have given so much to the nation. It’s time to recognize them for their values and character at the end of the day with scrutiny

What has Fox News and Iowa given the nation?

On Wednesday 12/28/2011 Fox News officially, without saying as much, threw its support fully behind candidate Romney.

Beginning with Fox News In the Morning and ending with Fox Talk Yakkers In the Evening, it was wall to wall Romney Goodness Day.

For Newt, it was a full day of hilarious jokes and wise cracks.

Personally, they FORCED me to love Newtie ALL THE MORE because the LAST thing *I* need is some shifty emasculated New York outfit telling me who I ought to like.

In fairness, all this attention on Romney was not his fault, but he basked in the glow. I retched.

What has Iowa given the nation?

Iowa, God Bless em, is full of GOOD people. But as a group they have given us exactly THREE things:

Taters. (Po-Ta-Toes)… Iowa Spuds! Some of the best in the world!
__________

Bill Shatner (Born Riverside, Iowa March 22, 2233) who was the best and most conservative minded captain of the Starship Enterprise fighting for earth and the Federation of Planets.
________

Heartburn.

With Fox News and the good voters of Iowa protecting our back, it looks likely that Obama, who is definitely a Klingon sympathizer, will continue to rack up historical firsts.

The actual fact here is simply that what Fox News doesn’t understand is that the conservative electorate isn’t focused right now. How could we be?

At the end of the day when the last man standing is nominated, whoever it is, it’s going to be like a full Federation raid on a miserable little Klingon outpost. It’s going to be a memorable massacre

Now that’s some scrutiny you can put in the bank at the end of the day.

BTW, one last measure of scrutiny… NEVER trust any talk yakkers that uses the phrase, “At the end of the day.” It’s a sign that they are uninspired talking point deliverers at the end of the day.

_______________________________________

NASCAR fans….Something to motivate you to the polls. The next race at Talladega after Obama wins will be run with electric cars only. Since they have to recharge for a minimum of 6 hours every fifty miles, Race Week really will take a week. No passes issued to go out for more beer.

Are You A Real Conservative Yet?

This election season has brought in a boatload of new folks. Maybe you are one of them. Chances are that you are new to conservatism. All things considered in your life, you reason, and from everything you hear and read, you ARE a conservative. At least more conservative than not. And this is just fine.

I suspect most folks are born liberal and have to learn conservatism. You might be only 80% conservative now, but the rest will come in time, if that’s your fate. Stuff like that.

Once upon a time there was a guy named Nemo or Nero, Neto..something like that and he was so confused that he went to see a computer generated program lady to find out what he was. All he learned on that visit was that she couldn’t bake cookies worth a dang and that sometimes a spoon is not a spoon. The boy was mighty confused. The good news was that he eventually figured out that not only was he a conservative, but the most powerful and best conservative ever grown in a test tube. Therefore there is time and hope for you as well.

You might be surprised to learn that real conservatives are not iconoclastic. That’s a big word that means we don’t all think alike.

I happen to be a social conservative and a fiscal socialist. What this means is that I believe in God, country, motherhood, etc;, but I also believe that rich folks have too much money and I want some of it. I remain a conservative by the letter of the law because I’m not only willing to work to get their money, but also, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

But one thing I have learned…and learned the hard way. There are two classes of conservatives…

Rich conservatives

Poor conservatives

AND these two sets of conservatives are NOT the same. What I have learned is that as for rich folks, MONEY TAKES CARE OF MONEY. Most often, rich conservatives and rich liberals have a lot more in common with each other than with poor conservatives.

In the big cities, where chaos reigns, you might not notice the differences. But in small town America, it’s pretty glaring. In small town America, the poor folks know who the rich folks are.

Try me out. You live in a small town and you know the rich folks. You might be one to say, “Hey, old rich farmer Fred acts just like one of us!”

Right away you just made a class distinction. “Hey, farmer Fred puts his coveralls on one suspender at a time just like me. And he’s always good for a wave or a hello down at the corner soda shop. He milks his own cows and gets in his own hay. He’s a regular guy!”

However, farmer Fred is not a regular poor guy. He’s not because if the by gone doggedest hottest summer to ever come along drys up all of his hay crop, and all his cow’s udders fall off, farmer Fred still has plenty of money in the bank. He’ll get by…..and he KNOWS it. But since he’s a conservative too, he doesn’t get cocky about it.

Now, a real conservative wouldn’t have farmer Fred envy. A real conservative would be glad that his friend and neighbor, rich old farmer Fred was able to weather the summer. And real conservative farmer Fred doesn’t flaunt his wealth. He might go on a cruise in Alaska at the end of the long dry summer, but he doesn’t brag on it. Rich and poor conservatives get along.

Unfortunately, farmer Fred might be on the cruise with the most liberal rich family in the county. Money runs with money and money takes care of money…most times.

Which brings us to Newt Gingrich. (A few columns back, I invited him to comment, and I still haven’t heard from him, btw…)

Newt Gingrich is a rich conservative. This is undeniable. What’s also undeniable is that for years I have watched as he hobnobbed with all the richest conservative folks, societies, clubs, groups, combines, PACS, you name it. You never saw him partying with any poor conservatives.

So, it strikes me as a bit odd that nowadays, you are far more likely to see him in an Iowa coffee shop slurping bad coffee and eating a pastry rather than in the halls of the rich and famous conservatives slurping wine and eating cheese. Even better, the poor conservatives have formed the base of his support, and most of his fat cat rich friends have turned their backs on him.

For YEARS Newt has carefully cultivated rich conservatives…and now, even as he stands at the foot of the throne, they deny him thrice before the chicken calls at daylight. But the poor conservatives flock to him.

Newt, have you learned YOUR lesson? RICH Republicans are often just another name for ELITE Republicans….and those folks are often on a different track than POOR Republicans.

Newt, since your base of support these days is most often made up of POOR Republicans, will you espouse their interests before and after your ascension, or will you turn back to your old fat cat (Elite Country Club) Republican pals who no doubt will once again allow you to be their friend?

There is a lesson here for us all. Money takes care of money until they turn on you.

This is a really strange election season. Mui el loco, as they say a little further south.

Former Fed Chairman, Alan Greenberry said a curious thing one time.

He allowed that he followed certain indicators outside of the normal ones you might expect to give him a sense of how the country’s finances were financing.

I could imagine him sitting in his car each day counting the number of freight cars passing by on the morning train. He never said exactly what he was watching…so I suppose that is as good as anything. Could have been how business was going down at the hotdog stand. Who knows? But it put a bug in my ear.

Personally, I find the little things very intriguing. Take my “cuzzin” Alex, my long time friend in mother Russia. Today in my inbox I find a note. He said, simply:

This is a first politician who could say the truth:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57340910-503544/gingrich-sticks-by-comment-calling-palestinians-invented-people/

I didn’t need to follow the link to translate what he was talking about. He was speaking, of course, about Newt’s statement about our friends the Palestinians, hardly any of which wouldn’t give away the chance to have their own nation complete with guaranteed breakfast in bed each morning if only they could add a few Jewish scalps to their hairpiece collection.

Beyond the obvious point cuzzin Alex was making, you will observe that Russians respect powerful American presidents, and Alex respects Newt above all. Unlike a great many of our elected officials, you’re more likely to get truth from a Russian citizen than lies. They may lie out of politeness, but outside of that, they don’t play games.

This is a little thing, to be sure…but it’s a big indicator to me which candidate our foreign friends find worthy.

In other matters, the TV talk yakkers on the other side of the aisle (and not a few on our side) are going through breathless writings and contortions to explain to us simple people what’s REALLY going on….but friends, they over think. The truth is very simple.

As you know, Beck is waiting for George Washington to ride out from behind the monument that bears his name on a white horse to set things right in a troubled nation.

IF Washington did suddenly appear, he wouldn’t be elected if the elites decided to shove him down our throats. He would be elected in a landslide if we thought it was our idea. Likewise, Romney’s problem is not Romney so much as Romney’s friends in the GOP.

This is the year that WE WILL NOT vote like we’re told. This is the year we’ll vote for the MOST conservative candidate that we can find that is electable.

Right now, the choice is overwhelmingly Newt Gingrich, and a big reason he is so popular with us is because he so unpopular with them

Right now the Tea Party is exactly 180 degrees out from the left and the elitists. And this is exactly where we need to be, because a confirmed lib will tell you each and every time who you SHOULD NOT vote for by telling you WHO to vote for. Trust the libs in this. Listen to what they have to say, and then do the exact opposite. It works every time is is tried. Tis a shame it is not tried more often.

Herman Cain is out but he’s not.

I’d like to take a moment and tell you a couple of things Cain is not…

Cain is NOT Ross Perot. We all wanted to love the little general but in the end he turned out to be a ticking implosion device on a short fuse.

Cain is not Alan Keyes. Keyes was, in his way, the pioneer black conservative. We all wanted to love him, but in the end he turned out to be a ticking implosion device on a short fuse.

Cain is not John Edwards, for he has no hair.

Nor is Cain a William Jefferson Clinton. If he were, he would be a democrat and his wife Gloria would be running his Bimbo Eruptions unit, and he would be in the lead for president.

Cain IS an American tragedy. Falsely accused, or at least accused and convicted without proof by the media.

Frankly, if Herman Cain had not been targeted and disposed of, it would eventually boil down to a two man race, Cain and Newt But in the end, Newt’s unconventional campaign would have triumphed Cain’s unconventional campaign.

That being the case, Cain is a new American tragedy for not being allowed to at least see the finish line over the rim.

And one thing Cain IS…

Cain is one more thing. Cain is the living proof of the lie that all white southerners are racist. White southern conservatives do not like Cain. They LOVE Cain. On the other hand, white southern democrats HATE Cain. Make of it what you will.

For the voters who count, the conservatives, Cain was blown away by Newt… Not by the ginned up lies perpetuated by the media. If they want to believe otherwise, let them. You can’t stop them anyway…but you don’t have to buy into it.

If Cain did anything wrong, it was to be a gregarious, amiable male leader, in the presence of strange, mean, and dangerous females at the apex of the PC office phenomenon. And perhaps to be helpful to those who do not deserve help. (You can bet he’ll never make that mistake again, so don’t ask him for money, especially if you wear a dress.)

Cain would have been better off to be born or made into a stone faced, humorless, non committal CEO of the type you have probably met or known. But then he wouldn’t have been..Herman Cain.

In a strange, but pivotal point in the life of the nation, a time of conservative plenty quite unknown in living memory, we were blessed to have had this man, Herman Cain, to consider for the office of the most powerful man in the world. Truly blessed. We could do worse.

A man pulls on his life experiences to understand the current situation.

In 1998 I was in Brazil on business. I found myself riding on a rickety old elevator to the 10th or 12th floor of an older condo building on the beach in a northeastern Brazilian city.

After the elevator grudgingly halted, I walked down the narrow hall to a door. It opened into a spacious room with the a full picture window and doors across the room open to the balcony facing the sea, the curtains blowing lazily in the wind. It was very humid.

I was meeting with a retired secretary of state of the region. It was a social call. I don’t think he had much liking for me one way or the other, but I had brought the gift of an assortment of American beer, and he was a most hospitable host.

The man, whose name I won’t mention, began his career as a newspaper journalist in Rio, and later moved north. He was a cagey fellow, and extremely wise in the ways of Brazil politics.

Before you visit Brazil you need to realize that it is on the other side of the equator. Thus, everything in that country is upside down from what you’re used to.

For politics, Brazil is basically socialist in nature, but there are no Americano type conservatives for balance. The loyal opposition there are more your typical dictator worshipers. So, in effect, you wind up with two versions of the left, and no right. It’s all upside down, or at best, sideways.

Brazil had fallen into bed with leftists, communists, socialists…some kind of ists earlier on, after making a stab at democracy. The country was about to fold when they had their revolution, and my host had joined in that movement. He was a wheel in the new military dictatorship.

After a time, the military turned the country back over to the people. My host, I gathered, longed for the days of military rule, which he felt was best for the people. Actually, he had done quite well for himself, monetarily, under the regime.

I don’t know if his government post ended with the coming of the new democracy, or later. Either way, he was a much loved and still powerful figure in northeast Brazil.

After a time, the talk turned to President Clinton. My host, I felt certain, held about as much confidence in my political opinions as he would those of a trained monkey. I wasn’t offended, because this guy WAS POLITICS. I was looking for an education from him…not the other way around.

Still, I waded in and tried my best to explain to him that it wasn’t the fact that Clinton had sexual relations with that woman…It was the fact that he lied about it that was getting him into trouble.

The old man was incredulous.

In Brazil, one learns, to run for office is an indictment of character to begin with. The people expect their officials to be crooks and liars, as surely as they know water swirls backwards in the drain. In their view, politics is a dishonorable, but necessary evil. They expect the worst from their elected officials, and most often get it.

So he was truly incredulous that Americans would be mad with Clinton, whom they should have expected to be a womanizer and liar.

I had managed to stump the pro.

The old man is still around, these years later, and I’m sure, mortified at the socialist state of the country. Brazil will continue on in like manner for a time, then it will become so corrupt that the military will once again take over. That is the way of Brazil.

In America at the end of 2011 , Herman Cain is in trouble, once again. The talk yakkers are all piling on, friend and foe alike.

Of Herman Cain… If my friend in Brazil pays any attention to gringo politics, he would surely be mystified once again, and amused at the antics of the press and Cain followers.

But most of all, he simply would not understand. Os Americanos loucos.

I invited Newt to respond to my open letter…ummn a week ago. I expect he has been busy with his Mexican turkey.

In the meantime, Gingrich got real close to the Perry Zone with his comment that he can’t believe that conservatives are so mean and heartless as to give illegal aliens a bus ticket home if they have been living illegally in the good old USA for 25 years.

When I heard him utter those words, my thoughts harkened back to my imperious open letter where I axed Gingrich if he’d do something dumb despite the wishes of his electorate. I expect this is just such a thing.

Newt says that it makes him real mad whenever anyone uses the word “amnesty” in his presence. However, if they can think of some other word that means the same thing, then that’s perfectly ok. (Ex: Amnistía)

As Rush pointed out last week, suppose an illegal alien from Mexico, Guatemala, or Uranus has been here for 24 years and 11 months. Do we put him and his muchachos and muchachinas on the next mail rocket home?

All that said, I have some news for you. Here is what will happen. Most illegal aliens who swam the Rio Grande, or dropped from a hovering flying saucer will stay in America, if they choose to.

Actually, a lot won’t. They dropped in to make a quick buck before heading home. But those who want to stay…will stay.

Here’s the problem…

If you happen to live in a part of the country where there are no illegal aliens, you have an easier time to say,” Dump ‘em all into a one way freight car south.”

It gets a little more dicey for those of us who have more experience.

Many of us have neighbors, good neighbors, who just happen to be from some other country or planet. Or our kid’s or grandkid’s best pals say ola instead of hello. Many of us have a conflict of interest.

Once you have some heart invested with these pesky invaders, it’s not so simple as to say, “Send ‘em all packing!”

Besides, how do you ship 11 million alien people back to where they came from? There aren’t enough boxcars, Greyhound busses, or spaceships to do it. You can forget that line.

The problem Newt has with me, at any rate, is the way he put it…. You’re heartless if you don’t agree with his cockamamie 25 year plan.

Besides, we ALL know that the courts will, in time, screw it over so badly that everybody who is OUTSIDE the country and doesn’t try to slip into America will be in VIOLATION of the law. Can you imagine 6 billion people being held incommuacado in Gitmo?

Generalissimo Newt’s current plan is unworkable in the extremis. El grande unworkable.

The question arises… Will Newt do something completely stupid and make us live with it? That’s my question.

I submit this 25 year thing is example #1, and he hasn’t even been nominated.

We had three years of really bad medicine from Obama to swallow plus the eight previous of soppy pro illegal legalization with Bush. The LAST thing we want is for another bad medicine giver to get the top office.

Newt has a heap (el grande pile) of explaining to do, and calling conservatives heartless and bad won’t cut it. (Whether he believes it or not.)

Unfortunately, most of the candidates were thinking more about turkey and dressing. According to Cain, who was shaken but not stirred, the moderator’s name was Blitz…just Blitz.

In case you missed the debate, I scored it thus:

Huntsman was the slickest talker.

Santorum was ok.

Newtie was adequate.

Ron Paul was….Ron Paul.

Cain was treading water. (Beware Cain. He’s a “second wind” kind of guy.)

Perry had a good to fair evening.

Romney was excellent as usual.

Bachmann had an outstanding evening.

Did I miss anyone?

Surprisingly, the whole crowd seemed a little road worn this time around.

On a completely different topic…. Michelle Bachmann on the Jimmy Fallon Show…

Michelle Bachmann was welcomed to the Fallon show the previous evening with the song ‘Lyin’ Ass Bitch’ . She didn’t have a clue what had happened until Glenn Beck clued her in. Beck was furious. Check out the vid above.

But then…nobody else mentioned it…at least not that I heard. Normally Rush and Hannity would have been very animated. Strange.

Back to the debate… The strangest thing about the debate Tuesday night was the debate itself which was hosted by the Heritage Foundation.

I don’t know about you, but I have been told for years that Heritage is the mecca for conservatism. I have never given them any money, and you can bet I never will now.

Why, you ax?

First, as Mr. Cain would say, Why would the most conservative think tank in the world, who could have things any way they want, choose to air their debate on CNN with Wolf Blitz?

Secondly, the hall was stuffed with guys in fancy suits with titles a whole paragraph long. I kept thinking…. WHO is paying these guys??? And WHY are they paying these guys who would choose to have their debate aired on CNN with Wolf Blitz?

The panel of candidates was not well served by the stuffed shirt crowd who remained staid, for the most part, and had difficulty knowing when to clap their hands. One cutaway shot of one Heritage guy showed him clapping his hands in a very strange fashion…up and down instead of side to side. Something wrong there.

Something was off key about the whole evening. Obviously, it would have gone much better if it has been in front of a crowd of real people on a real network.
