A Glenn Beck disciple rethinks…

Glenn had his bags packed on May 1, 2012. Fearfully, he peeked from his fashionable Texas bedroom window at the darkening sky, looking for the comet that would come to take us all way.

May 2, 2012 came, the sun came up as usual, and no comet. Whoops!

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking this is a leftist rant against Beck. Ha!

Far from it.

Nobody has done more to expose the left than Glenn. I liken it to making things that go boom.

To make a really neat boom, you need exactly 4 things:

• Sulfur
• Saltpeter
• Charcoal
• A match

There is a precise formula to make this stuff boomy. Combine these ingredients in anything but that precise manner (excluding the match) and all you get is a fizzle.

That’s what happened on May first. Everything that Beck said was there, was there, only, the proportions were all screwed up.

The problem with a revolution is that you wind up losing what you like best. For example, if you’re a radical nutcase anarchist, and you burn down the local Starbucks, then, I ax you…Where will you go to meet to plan out your next revolution? Hmmn? This is the problem they faced. They chose to let Starbucks live.

What we found was that all the bad guys Beck exposed are just armchair bad guys. All smoke and no boom.

So much for the glorious revolution.

I am disappointed (But not surprised) with the lackluster reaction to my last article, “Anwar of the South? FEDS RUSH TO SELL OFF OIL LEASES IN SOUTHERN STATES.” Gosh knows I splashed it all over Twitter, etc.

It is a sad fact that the American hunter, who has the most to fear from the federal gubment’s willy nilly selling off his hunting lands is his own worst enemy when it comes to standing up and protecting shrinking habitat.

The American hunter, who is wired completely differently from his cousin the tree hugger will stand idly by while the most atrocious things are done by people who think differently. So it has been, so it shall be.

So, let me give you a couple of more things to look forward to.

• Iran –Should Israel decide to pelt Iran with bombs, Iran will move to shut down the sea lanes. This will engender an internal struggle within the armed forces of the United States of America, as they compete with each other to see who can sink more Iranian ships.It will come down to the aviators vs the submariners…Bombs vs torpedoes. Thankfully, the entire Iranian navy will be sunk in an afternoon turkey shoot. However, feeling badly, we will immediately send billions in aid to rebuild their navy so they won’t be mad at us.However,in the meantime, gas prices will skyrocket. Let’s see…skyrocket from more than the current $4 a gallon. Hmmn!
• Armageddon December 21, 2012 -Earth suddenly rotates in opposite direction. All humans fly off into interstellar space. Be happy. Don’t worry about it. Our NASA scientists are working on it.
• Taxmageddon –Introduced briefly last week by Fox News, and then quickly overwritten by breaking news about Mitt’s great grandaddy’s Mormon wives. Taxmageddon WILL take place on January 1, 2013. At that time America will be plunged into a recession, if not a full blown depression.
  

BUT…..cheerily, during the month of December, the antics of the strangest lame duck congress in history will totally overshadow the Christmas season, tamping and trampling sales prospects, as it lamely goes about trying to avoid the worst of Taxmageddon. Of course, it will utterly fail, or worse, vote for anti-constitutional measures that we can only dream of at this time. Oh, it’s going to be GREAT fun!

• And…even should we win in November, we shall still lose. See my article… – STRANGE LOVE  Here I explain the problem the new man faces with a bureaucracy stacked with Obama holdovers. It’s pretty clear that I was right back on May 28th, 2010.If you took anything away from the GSA scandal it should be that to a person, ALL congress folks say that it is next to impossible to fire a civil servant. Therefore, the new president will remain at the mercy of entrenched dopey, socialistic, Obama loving bureaucrats. Party hearty!

So, my friends, happy summer. It’s going to a hot one this year. That old freight train way off in the distance that I have been WARNING you about is nearly at crossroads now and guess who’s sitting there on the tracks flicking ants off the picnic tater salad, listening to the latest news about the president lopping up still wriggling dog flesh? How shocking!

What is wrong with this picture? Thousands of acres of national forest up for quick sale of oil lease rights to the highest bidder by the environmentally conscious Obama administration.

What’s even better is that southerners were blindsided. Nobody knew about it. Obviously the comment period is up, and no one has a clue about the disbursement of the profits of the sale.

While federal national forest properties are commonly “multi-use” this is a wholesale departure from common practices in forests where anything but foot travel is frowned upon in most places.

It has something to do with the fact that Anwar went solidly for Obama, while the southern tier states did not.

In the meantime, even as Obama grows long in the tooth and begins to sag and lose his charming looks, vast tracts of southern habitat will be open for drilling by anyone with the bucks in his pocket to snap up the leases, and this includes the Chinese and North Koreans.

Shades of ATLAS SHRUGGED.

While I’m not a tree hugger, I am a national forest user. And while I’m not awfully worried about the environmental impact, I am appalled at the speed and sneakiness of the cavalier way this has been handled. The impact is generational for short term gains by the earf friendly Obama administration.

It’s pretty clear that Republicans are up to their old tricks.

From Columbia to Las Vegas, our government employees are up to their necks in fun. However, party pooper Republicans begrudge these men and women even a nickel of taxpayer money to alleviate the pent ups stresses of their stressful jobs. They will not miss one chance to make fun of President Obama, who even now considers whether to be angry.

Do they not know that everything is legal below the equator and that what goes on in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas?

Republicans…. Can you NOT take a joke??

Eagerly, I awaited my player. When it arrived, I found that it was no larger than a pack of smokes. After doing my research I decided on the Roku 2 XS model.

The reason I chose the $99 unit was that unlike the other models which receive their broadcast information from your wireless network, the XS allows you to run a hard line into it. This means that you get every ounce of speed from your modem.

To digress, the ROKU player hooks up to your television via an HDMI cable, of which you are well aware of if you have a modern HD set. Otherwise, you can hook up with analog cables that comes with the unit. The HDMI/HD setup is best. You can purchase an HDMI cable from Walmart for under $15 these days.

For broadcast juice, you simply run a wire from your modem to the unit, or use wireless, whichever. Unless you have a really good wireless setup, close to the unit, you really ought to give the unit it’s own dedicated line.

IF you have only one computer and one wire, you will have to invest in a “router” to split the signal so that you can wire up your ROKU. It’s well worth the expense and trouble to do so. If you have a network and router already, and room to hook up another line, well, you’re already 98% ready!

I’m going to do a real ROKU review and tutorial one of these days, but there are already many that you can find if you’ll just look.

The point of this article is to put a bug into your ear about ROKU.

Once you get your Roku unboxed and plugged into the wall, and a computer wire hooked up, the setup takes just a few minutes and then….

Well, what I found was simply ASTOUNDING….and I don’t use that word lightly. Besides Beck, you get access to thousands of FREE movies, old TV shows, and all sorts of programs, and shows from all over the world.

If you had nothing to do but to go sample everything you can get for FREE with your ROKU player, it would take you a month.

While the ROKU, in my view, won’t replace your current cablevision lineup, it could. For instance, it does not have AMC on it, nor a full day of FOX.

That said, once you have a ROKU hooked up, you will never ever never get your money’s worth from your cable package again. What you have available now with the top of the line cable package pales in comparison to what you get with a one time investment of about a hundred bucks with ROKU.

And you get Beck too if you want him.

Take Rep. Rush as seen here in an article on Glenn Beck’s The Blaze website. Yes, I know he looks like one of the misfortunates in the original version of The Omega Man featuring Charlton Heston, but he’s making a fashion statement on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, so cut him some slack!

He kept making his speech although the speaker pro tempore kept trying to gavel him down for wearing strange attire.

My suggestion to short circuit this silliness is simply to get with the program and get your own hoodie for those Tea Party rallies this summer.

I was born in 1955 and films like the one above were the kind I was raised on. After that, progressively more so, children were and are told how bad is our nation.

In the light of the this spectacular information about the dangerous sons of the south, Bill Maher will no doubt be lauded as particularly courageous for daring to enter this Alabama zone of death.

Maher knows coming to Huntsville, Alabama, the “Rocket City,” that he risks being trapped in a corner like a wild animal and being force fed grits from a dirty bowl by zombielike shotgun wielding madmen dressed in white smocks, reciting giddy arcane ballistic formulas as they ready him for a rocket ride to eternity.

On the other hand, all that he may receive is a hearty welcome and the universal Alabamian sign of recognition for special guests of his station, “Bless his little heart…”

Alabama democrats have a right to crow with this latest historic coup. Maher indeed is a most welcome recognition for their great work in Alabama politics. Indeed, Alabama democrats only want what’s best for their beloved state, and demonstrate this most assuredly with their gala fundraiser featuring funnyman Bill Maher. It wasn’t easy coaxing the legendary Maher to fly down into the heart of darkness!

Maher’s only takeaway for his sacrifice, besides the money he will take out of the state, will be a raft of new funnyman material about Alabama to lavish on his beloved, if sparse audience.

The sacrifice of the Alabama democrats in their work to spotlight the positive aspects of Alabama, and bring recognition of Alabama to the nation in inviting funnyman Bill Maher to come to Alabama will be long remembered in the halls of politics in our fair state.
