Origin of the Fool

A minor annoyance to any good God fearing Conservative is the lack of a precise explanation of the origin of the common liberal.(Scientific name Rattus Liberalis). With this article, perhaps we are closer.

Through a fortuitous accident of fortune I ran across the explanation by Terence P Ward.
Much like the discovery of penicillin on a moldy piece of bread, Ward did not and could not have known that he was in fact, describing the scourge of the ages, the common liberal. It was left to me to make the connection.
Ward’s piece, which first saw light in 2006, was actually was a partial history of the “Fool” card in a tarot deck.
Tarot cards, which are most likely not on the top of the Conservative’s to know list, are a tool commonly employed by the gypsy class to fleece money from the weak minded, through fortune telling. While the origin of the tarot card is not known, I believe it was invented by ancient capitalists to take money from weak minded godless progressives, who, provably, will believe darn near any wild tale imparted to them…..
See if this dissertation below doesn’t describe the common liberal to the absolute n’th degree.

In the tarot, the Fool represents naïve choices, a disregard for planning, embracing change for change’s sake, and a general disdain for all things serious and adult-like. He skips gaily ahead, heedless of the dangers represented by the cliff before him, and likewise ignoring the dog that so desperately seeks to pull him back to his proper path of Seriousness and Order. In his colorful garb he is an affront to the proper adult approach to life, as was handed down by the wise sage Greyface in 1166 BCE.

It is no surprise that the Fool managed to insinuate himself into the tarot, for during the Middle Ages and before he cropped up continually, and was even rather well regarded! The Roman feast of Saturnalia permitted the Saturnalicius princeps (or Lord of Misrule) to rule for a day, and they also celebrated Hilaria with all manner of silliness.

The British town of Gotham was reputed to be packed to the gills with Fools that engaged in such activities as fish-drowning….

How like the curious pastime of fish drowning is the current rage of enacting Health Care that nobody wants? Tis, unarguably, the province of fools…a misbegotten lot that time should have forgot, but instead preserved from the golden age of Gotham to the present day.
New York has often been called Gotham by such wizened scientific publications as Variety. But nay, methinks they got it wrong.
Washington DC….aye, that is the Gotham for our times. Dare you disagree?

In any event, I have oft argued that the menace of unchecked liberalism came to our shores with the European immigrants. See my arkle dated July 7. This above morsel of lost knowledge tends to prove me out. Once again your unheralded, scholarly publication, AlabamaTeaTime on AlabamaTeaParty.org explains the inexplicable and tracks the contagion of liberalism back to the tainted source.
