Obama Thinks Kidney Failure A Hoot
This may be a little over reported in our circles by the time you read this, but I had to add my voice with the important section of transcript from the annual Washington Press Corp Correspondent’s Dinner, May 9, 2009.
Conservatives were used to feeling antsy when seeing these things on television, for they have always served as a forum for a poor joke teller to make fun of a sitting president. This year, this woman, Wanda Sykes begins, “It’s hard to poke fun at the president because he’s so likable.” Undeterred, she went on to poke fun at the conservative president, Rush Limbaugh…
“Transcript
WANDA SYKES: Rush Limbaugh, one of your big critics. Uh, boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails.
You know, so you’re saying, ‘I hope America fails.’ You’re like, ‘I don’t care about people losing their homes, their jobs, our soldiers in Iraq.’ He just wants the country to fail.
To me, that’s treason. He’s not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying.
You know, you might want to look into this, sir, because I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight.
Too much? But you’re laughing inside. I know you’re laughing.
SYKES: Rush Limbaugh — ‘I hope the country the fails.’ I hope his kidneys fail. How ’bout that?
He needs a little waterboarding. That’s what he needs. “
Utube will have this video forever. Just search for Wanda Sykes. It won’t ever be posted here. What is incalculably worse than these remarks by this wacko nutcase embittered Obama supporter, is that a great percentage of the news people and the president, President Obama laughed heartily at her take on Rush Limbaugh. Further, at the conclusion, Obama gave her a magnificent thumbs up. This will go down as one of the great signposts to the heart and thinking of Obama and his low media minions. More, it screams to anyone with ears that something is seriously seriously wrong in Washington DC. They laugh like Romans of old at things that modern people don’t think are funny.
Kidney Failure Update: Actual comment on a feminist board delivered 5.12.09:
“I thought this was really funny actually. I love Wanda Sykes.
As far as wishing Rush to die, she was turning his phrase about how he wants our country to basically collapse back on him. I thought it was clever and amusing.
The only part I didn’t find funny was the waterboarding line because I just don’t think waterboarding is funny. But otherwise I don’t see the big deal. She’s a comedian; she’s not a political figure.”
Death by kidney failure is funny, but a little water up the nose is really pushing it?
Once upon a time a boy clapped for joy in his 3rd grade class when it was announced that John F. Kennedy had been killed. He was a product of his environment, understanding only what he had been taught. Later, when he had some age on him, he looked back and was violently repulsed and ashamed at the memory. It changed the way he looked at the world and things.
The lady who dropped the lines above is writing from a mountain of ignorance. Maybe one day, (though it is doubtful) she too will be ashamed. She has a great many sources to use to help her mold her educated opinions. Today, being ignorant is largely a personal choice.

… digs at Rush Limbaugh. Did Sykes cross a line in speculating that Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker on 9/11 and hoping he ended up with kidney disease? …
Apparently, this is a blog on the Tuscaloosa Alabama News website. The blogger is Katherine Lee the city editor of The Tuscaloosa News…. The answer we give is that if Kathy must ask if wishing someone kidney failure crosses a line, then, she has issues. Of course, it’s nothing new, these problems with our Alabama “news”papers. In modern times we realize they are worthy only for the Sunday funnies, garden mulch, and savings coupons. As we know, real news died. We, of course, are forced to look elsewhere for our daily education. (Actually real news coverage died a long time ago. The modern difference is that the public is no longer captive to a local unimedia. Thanks to the internet, now they (we) have choices!
